Ventoxen 10 mg (Venetoclax) is a targeted therapy medicine used to fight certain types of blood cancer.

Manufacturer: Everest Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Bangladesh). The pack contains 7 tablets. This 10 mg strength is a starting dose. It is designed to help your body gradually adapt to the treatment during the very first week before moving to higher doses. The medicine works by blocking a specific protein that helps cancer cells survive.

Key Features:

✅ Targeted Action: Specifically attacks cancer cells.
✅ Ramp-up Phase: This small pack is usually for the "ramp-up" schedule (Week 1).
✅ High Efficacy: Used even when other treatments have not been successful.

This medicine is prescribed for adult patients with:

  • 🔹 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL): A type of cancer affecting white blood cells.
  • 🔹 Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML): A cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
  • 🔹 Initial Phase: The 10 mg dose is used specifically to safely start the therapy.

Packaging: 10 mg tablets (7 tablets per pack — typically for 1 week).

⚠️ DOSAGE AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Schedule: This dose is usually taken during the first week of treatment (follow your doctor's exact "ramp-up" calendar). Do not change the dose on your own!
  • Food & Water: Take the tablets with a meal and swallow with water.
  • 💧 Hydration (Crucial): Drink at least 1.5–2 liters of water daily. This helps flush out toxins from destroyed cancer cells and protects your kidneys.
  • How to take: Swallow whole. Do not chew, crush, or break.
  • 🌡️ STORAGE: Store in a dry place below 30°C. Keep in the original packaging to protect from light. Keep away from children.

  • Allergy to Venetoclax or any ingredients.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding (harmful to the fetus).
  • Use of strong CYP3A inhibitors (give your doctor a list of all your meds).
  • 🚫 Grapefruit: Do not eat grapefruit, pomelo, or drink their juice during treatment (it can dangerously increase drug levels in your blood).

Since the treatment is potent, some side effects may occur:

  • 🩸 Blood: Low white blood cell count (neutropenia), increasing infection risk.
  • 🤢 Stomach: Nausea or diarrhea (usually manageable).
  • 🤒 General: Fatigue or weakness.
  • ⚠️ Tumor Lysis Syndrome: If you feel extreme weakness, irregular heartbeat, or notice dark urine, contact your doctor immediately (this is why drinking water is so important!).
